Ayurveda explains that everything within this world is made up of the 5 elements air, ether, water, earth and fire.

Ayurveda explains that everything within this world is made up of the 5 elements air, ether, water, earth and fire. These 5 elements combine to form what is known as the tridoshas. These tridoshas make up plants, herbs and even our bodies. Depending on the ratio of these elements each of us has a unique body type known as Prakruti. This body type influences our digestive capacity, our temperament, our physical body shape as well as predisposes us to certain illnesses. By balancing the doshas we can attain long lasting wellness.

Ayurveda is a holistic science it understood the mind – body connection a long time before science. Ayurveda explains that our thoughts even when we eat can influence the way that our bodies digest the food, the way we think about ourselves can affect the way disease manifests within our bodies.

In order to truly heal we need to uproot the disease from it’s core, by clipping the diseased leaves or concentrating on the symptoms we can not bring the person back to a true state of wellness. Understanding the unique interplay of factors that has created each persons situation allows us to focus on the areas that are creating the symptoms than just simply numbing the symptoms temporarily.

Each of our different body parts and organs are all interconnected and once we understand these interconnected systems we don’t see each symptom as a unique concern. Instead we are able to connect the different imbalances together and understand the interconnectedness of the different systems to help identify the root cause of the imbalances
