Hair Loss and what you may be missing

Hair loss and root causes

Hair Loss has always been one of the most common areas of concern for my clients, whether it was when I was working from a solely Ayurvedic model or when I started to offer more integrated health support. Over the years having suffered with hair loss myself, including alopecia I truly started to appreciate the unique root causes that needed support in each person.

Identify the root cause of your hair loss

Take the client who came to me with sudden shedding of hair. I remember on our first appointment she had bought the hair lost in the previous week for me to see neatly packed in a ziplock bag. This lady had been trying everything from natural shampoos and oils but had not found any relief. She ate mainly home cooked meals and was careful about what she applied on her body yet nothing was stopping the hairfall.

We went through the extensive list of questions as part of her assessment and I examined her tongue and pulse. It was clear to me that her body was depleted and struggling for adequate nutrition but relaying this to her was a bit more tricky. Not only had she been through a severe infection a few months earlier, she was also caring for her elderly parents. I could see she needed more nourishment from within, not only through food but the deeper restorative nurture and care. As we embarked on a plan within a few months she had noticed her hair had stopped falling. This was without any magic oil or high grade biotin supplements, but by supporting her body to feel more nourished.

Another lady who I worked with many years ago had been experiencing so much hair loss she was so distressed. Her job required her to turn up and look smart and professional, this was something she prided herself on, but now she would avoid going into work and would turn the camera off during her zoom meetings. This lady was a high achieving woman, who would thrive in pushing herself both mentally and physically. She also took pride in her diet and loved to cooked. She would prepare freshly cooked meals low in unhealthy ingredients daily. Yet her hair kept falling. She even learnt to prepare fresh herbal oils in an attempt to halt the shedding. With this client she also needed to restore, but it was less of a dietary approach and more of reassessing her approach to life. As we improved her diet and lifestyle with targeted support for her HPA axis her hair loss completely stopped and grew back thicker and healthier than before.

These are just 2 cases but others have required hormonal support or digestive support before their hair loss has stopped. But with each case the program has been completely unique to their root cause.

If you are concerned with hair loss and are tired of trying numerous oils and supplements, why not take time for a more personalised approach. Herbs that are blended for your imbalances, along with dietary and nutritional support. Clients may come for hair loss but they always walk away with a lot more.
